I have been performing professionally for over ten years, primarily as a soloist but also more recently with my band at festivals.
My main income has come from being a 'pub and club' performer along the east coast of Australia. I have now performed well over 1000 shows, and am not planning on slowing down in the near future.
I am, however, shifting my focus more and more towards my writing and recording skills - hence the primary reason for this website. Around ten years ago my father took me to see Graeme Connors in concert, and I was absolutely blown away. From that point onwards I have been hooked on listening to, writing and performing songs that tell stories - songs that inspire people to listen - songs that allow both yourself and your audience to share the common emotions that make us all uniquely Australian, be that as individuals or as a common body.
Over the years I have taught myself to record, established a four piece band, written a heap of original material and now, finally, commercially released my debut CD. All this while performing 2 - 3 times each week, working day jobs where necessary, raising four kids, entering numerous competitions, and keeping the lovely Miss Ruthie happy.
I am confident, however, that musically I am on the right path. My music has brought me many rewards, be they through my numerous achievements within the industry (click here for achievements), or through the positive comments I constantly receive from members of the public who have either seen my show or purchased a CD and volunteer that they 'can't stop playing it'. I have had the honour of playing an original ('Tender Moments') as the bridal waltz for a couple that I had never met before and seeing them sing the song to each other word for word, I have played the main stage at Gympie in front of 10,000+ people, and I have been able to commemorate both lost and loved ones through my writing and my music.
The best part is that even after over ten years of performing, I really do believe my musical journey is just beginning. The industry is now starting to sit up and take notice (thank you Maton Guitars for your endorsement), my CD has been well received, I have a great musical and personal support network, and I am more enthusiastic than ever about my songs and shows.
